A big part of Sci-Fi&#8217;s popularity in 2016 and 2017 has been this tail design along with Tomo&#8217;s Quad Inside Single Concave.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Functionally, the marriage of these two design elements has been brilliant &#8211; the double bat adding much needed grip to the wave face, offsetting the extreme lift and speed created by the Quad Inside Single Concave.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>By merging these elements with the Omni&#8217;s reduced nose swing weight, Daniel Tomson has created an evolved version of both boards that surfs more similarly to the Sci-Fi but with a bit more rocker, and greater ease of use in 1 to 5 foot waves.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>However, when it comes to size waves, surfers who love that familiar &#8220;barely out of control in a fun way&#8221; speed when the waves drag above their heads will also appreciate the feel of this board in proper waves.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Both Kelly Slater and Daniel Thomson surfed and signed this shape in 2017 and we can&#8217;t wait to introduce it in 2018 as the next evolution of Tomo&#8217;s minimalist and highly engineered, modern planning hulls for Slater Designs.<\/p>\r\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Cymatic is a cutting edge, ultra high performance machine.
